Game On: Georgia Tech is ready for Dublin

Consul General Shane Stephens joins Coach Paul Johnson at Yellow Jackets Training

American football is heading to Dublin with 20,000 fans from the US! The 2016 college football season will kick off at magnificent Aviva Stadium on September 3rd when the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets take on the Boston College Eagles in a high pressure Conference game.

These college teams are headlining a packed game week which will also incorporate three high school games, prestigious business events, academic forums and grand-scale pep rallies. Follow the action at www.collegefootballireland.com.

Facing off in the high school games on September 2nd are Atlanta’s Blessed Trinity Catholic High School, Marist School and Westminster School, Miami’s Belen Jesuit, the Community School of Naples (Florida) and St. Peter’s Prep (New Jersey).

In recent weeks, Consul General Stephens has spoken to the Yellow Jackets and the five Southeastern high school teams. He made sure to give them a taste of Ireland ahead of their trip.

“Dublin is an ancient Viking City but has the youngest and most lively population in Europe. The city centre is always exciting but the arrival of 20,000 American fans, 8 football teams, bands and cheerleaders is going spark something really special,“ said Mr. Stephens.

Practice session by the Yellow Jacket Marching Band was awesome – they will have a huge impact in Dublin.
