Conradh na Gaeilge Glaschu agus Seachtar na Casca
The Pádraig Pearse Branch of Conradh na Gaeilge, in partnership with the 1916 Easter Rising Centenary Committee, is organising public screenings of the acclaimed Seachtar na Cásca historical documentary series. The series, which examines the lives of the seven signatories of 1916 Easter Proclamation, will be screened over seven evenings at Glasgow’s Centre for Contemporary Arts.
Produced by Abú Media, Seachtas na Cásca is narrated by Brendan Gleeson and features dramatic reconstructions of the events of Easter 1916. Each episode is in Irish (with subtitles) and English.
The Seachtar na Cásca screenings present an ideal opportunity to learn about the seven leaders who were executed for their role in the Easter Rising. The series will emphasis what brought them on the road to revolution and why it is so important to keep their memories alive.
The first installment of the series will be screened on Sunday 6 December and will chronicle the life of Thomas J. Clarke. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on Clarke.
Further information on the screening of Seachtar na Cásca is available at on the Centre's website.
