Bloomsday Celebration with Trinity College Chapel Choir
To celebrate Bloomsday the Consul General will host an evening of readings from James Joyce's Ulysses with special guest performers, the Trinity College Dublin Chapel Choir led by Dr Kerry Houston
Tracing it's roots to 1762 & its Chapel to 1798, the Choir gives concerts and is broadcast regularly on both RTÉ and BBC in addition to the regular choral services during each week of lecture term and various special College and University services. Trips are organized twice yearly and more distant travels have included Rome, Berlin, Hamburg, Venice, Frankfurt, Leuven, Stockholm, Copenhagen and New York.
The Choir's visit to Hong Kong will help to build on the relationships that have been forged between Trinity College and the Anglican Province of Sheng Kung Hui through Dublin University Mission and also links visa the Irish Columban's AITECE which places teachers in mainland China. During their visit, the Choir will perform in St John's Cathedral as well as in the Anglican parish of St Philip in the New Territories before travelling to Macau.
We regret that places for this celebration are limited & entry will be by prior registration only. Tickets are non-transferable. If you registered & won't be able to make it along, please let us know so we can make your place available to the next in line on the waiting list.
