Charity Collection at Embassy Book Launch
19 December 2014
At the launch by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD, in Brussels on 19 December, 2014 of the Embassy’s new book Ireland and Belgium – Past Connections and Continuing Ties those who attended responded generously to Ambassador Mac Aodha’s suggestion that the occasion be marked by a holiday season collection for an Irish and a Belgian charity. On foot of the collection €1,057.00 has already been donated to the St. Vincent de Paul, Ireland (representing one half of the funds collected) and a similar amount will shortly be given to a Belgian children’s cancer charity – details to be posted shortly. The Embassy wishes to put on record its generosity to all those who contributed to these worthy causes.
