In 2015 Ireland celebrates the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ireland’s Nobel Prize-winning poet, William Butler Yeats. A poet and playwright, Yeats is widely considered to be one of the greatest poets of the 20th century. Yeats was born on June 13th 1865 and in 1923 he was awarded The Nobel Prize in Literature for his always inspired poetry, which in a highly artistic form gives expression to the spirit of a whole nation.

New Architects: Ireland Exhibition

Ambassador Frank Flood opened the New Architecture: Ireland Exhibition on September 12. Conceived, designed and curated by AP+E and funded by Irish Design 2015 and the Irish Embassy Network, New Architecture: Ireland is a traveling architecture exhibition that presents the work of six young Irish offices that have emerged during the recent economic crisis.

Ministerial Visit by Seán Sherlock

Mr Seán Sherlock, TD, Minister of State for Development, Trade Promotion and North-South Co-operation at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, was on a two-day visit to Estonia on 10-11 June, during which he met with members of Estonian Parliament, representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, visited e-Estonia Showroom, met with Enterprise Estonia, and members of Irish-Estonian Business Network and local Irish community.
Enterprise Ireland Trade Mission to Tallinn
9-10 June 2015
Enterprise Ireland in cooperation with the Embassies of Ireland in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, organised the first ever Market Study Visit (MSV) to the Baltics from June 7-11, 2015. The Trade Mission consisted of 10 companies which exceeded the expectations. They held individual meetings with possible Estonian business partners, and participated in Digital Marketing Seminar co-hosted by Enterprise Ireland and the Irish Estonian Business Network.

16 March – Master Class by members of the Lord of the Dance to local Irish dance group Solas dancers from Parnu, Tartu and Tallinn at Embassy Chancery, Tallinn
17 March – St Patrick’s Day Reception followed by a concert by Irish sean nós singers and a harpist at the House of the Blackheads, Tallinn
17 March – St Patrick’s Day Reception for Lord of the Dance cast performing in Tallinn and members of local Irish community at Ambassador’s Residence, Tallinn
