The Embassy of Ireland in London is seeking to set up a panel of highly motivated, flexible, hardworking, professional individuals from which vacancies for interns will be filled over the coming months.
The successful candidate(s) will be working in the Political, EU and/or Community/Cultural area of the Embassy. Responsibilities will include monitoring activity in Parliament including Committees; research on political, Northern Irish or EU related matters; event management; attending meetings/briefings; report writing; liaison with political, EU, Irish community and/or cultural contacts, general administration etc.
This opportunity may particularly suit candidates with an interest in politics, NI, EU and/or International Relations. There is one immediate vacancy which the Embassy would like to fill as soon as possible. Other vacancies arising within the coming months may also be filled from this panel.
The position will be full time Monday to Friday for a period of 11 months, with the occasional necessity to work outside normal office hours. The gross weekly salary will be £394.04 per week.

Shortlisting is expected to take place the following week with interviews shortly thereafter. It is the candidate's responsibility to make him/herself available for interview. For those candidates not based in Britain, it may be possible to facilitate interview by video conference either at the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade headquarters in Dublin, or one of our other Embassies or Consulates.
The shortlisting process will take educational qualifications and previous work experience in to account; in addition to general suitability to work in a busy Embassy and availability. The minimum educational qualification is an Honours Undergraduate Degree. Given the level of interest in such positions in the past, it is likely successful candidates will also have postgraduate qualifications.
