Global Ireland - Heads of Mission Conference

Dublin Castle recently played host to a three-day gathering bringing together colleagues from various locations around the world to discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by the Department of Foreign Affairs, both at home and abroad. The Summit explored how Ireland can become even more active in the world while reflecting on our impact globally.
The Global Ireland Summit provided a platform for Heads of Mission from all Irish embassies, the public service, state agencies, community organizations, cultural institutions, and NGOs to share their insights and ideas on Ireland's role in foreign countries. Colleagues shared experiences and knowledge from their respective missions abroad and build on Ireland’s great reputation across the globe.
Emer Groarke, coordinator of the Global Ireland Summit, expressed huge satisfaction with the valuable contributions made by the speakers on the various panels, which included Climate and Energy, Future Europe, AI and Tech, and the role of Youth.

As part of the Global Ireland Schools Programme, Ireland's Ambassadors visited schools to communicate the Department’s work in missions all over the world.
Ambassador Austin Gormley joined an Irish Defence force contingent at North Wicklow Educate Together school to outline Ireland’s role in promoting international peace and human rights.
