Mar 31 at 3 pm Scholarly Seminars at The Newberry Library, Chicago - ‘Actresses & Activists’ - Mary Trotter, University of Wisconsin, Madison How activism informed women’s politics and art in early twentieth century Ireland.
Apr 21 - Ambassador Geraldine Nason will visit Chicago and make an address on the topic of the 25th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement. Details to be announced.
Apr 21 at 7 pm Irish tenor Emmet Cahill at the Irish American Heritage Center. Emmet of Celtic Thunder fame sings powerful renditions of Broadway hits and Irish favourites from Danny Boy to Amazing Grace. Tickets here.

Apr 22 - Trinity Irish Dance Company performs at the Auditorium Theatre for one-night-only, sharing the stage with the most cutting-edge tap dance company of our time, NYC-based Dorrance Dance, and Chicago's own M.A.D.D. Rhythms. Tickets.

Apr 29 at 7 pm - Irish American Hall of Fame at the Irish American Heritage Center, Chicago SOLD OUT! This year honours Mark Howard, founder of Trinity Irish Dance Company.

Mar 31 at 7 pm - Rory Makem at CelticMKE Center – An evening of folk songs and stories with Irish folk singer. In addition to music, the Ward Irish Music Archives will share digitized footage from Rory Makem's father, Tommy Makem, and Liam Clancy's 1977 television show.

Mar 30 & Apr 13 – (Online) Book Discussion: “Constance Markievicz: Irish Revolutionary”
Join Dr. Kevin Byrne and Dr. Steven Griffith for a free, two-night discussion of Anne Haverty’s, Constance Markievicz: Irish Revolutionary (2016). Constance Gore-Booth was born into the privileged world of a wealthy Protestant landowning family in County Sligo, she became an important voice in the Irish Republican movement, was second in command in St. Stephen’s Green during the Easter Rising, was the first woman elected to the British Parliament.
Apr 16 – 11 am – 3 pm Easter Rising Commemoration. A pro peace pro partisan process, organised by Minneapolis 1916 Commemoration Committee.
Apr 6-16 (various dates/times). She Stoops to Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith at Celtic Junction. A charming comedy first performed in 1773 performed by Out of the Mist Celtic Theater.
Apr 14-30 – Irish Arts Week at Celtic Junction. A feast of cultural events and classes including Irish Film screenings, free Irish dance classes, storytelling, concerts, Irish language weekend and more.
Apr 21-23 - Deireadh na Seachtaine Gaeilge at Celtic Junction – an Irish language weekend in St. Paul, MN. One of the highlights of the Irish Arts Week.
